Call it an addiction. Call it an affliction, or maybe an obsession. Any way you slice it, we have been card-carrying, certified, full-on game show freaks for what seems like forever. Who cared if Mom burned the meatloaf again – after all, Let’s Make A Deal was on. Raining outside? We probably wouldn’t have noticed if live chickens fell from the sky – the Wheel of Fortune theme music was starting, and Vanna was about to make her daily entrance into our hearts and minds. Bedtime, after the TV picture had faded to fuzzy snow, simply meant another chance to dream of being a star contestant.
Fast-forward a few years. Here we are, still hung up the game shows.
